Dedicated to decarbonizing the built environment BamCore joins the ranks of OpenAI, Disney, Tiffany & Co., and more by making Fast Company’s List of the World’s Most Innovative Companies for 2023
WINDSOR, CA (March 2, 2023) — BamCore has been named to Fast Company’s prestigious annual list of the World’s Most Innovative Companies for 2023. BamCore was recognized as third in the world for the most innovative manufacturing companies of 2023.
This year’s list highlights the businesses at the forefront of their respective industries, paving the way for the innovations of tomorrow. These companies are setting the standard with some of the greatest accomplishments of the modern world.
“We are honored to be recognized by Fast Company as one of the Most Innovative Companies of 2023. At BamCore, we are pioneering the way for carbon-negative construction around the world, a revolution that is sure to positively benefit the planet and our communities.” said Hal Hinkle, CEO of BamCore.
In 2022, BamCore introduced its digitally enabled industrialized construction offering, increasing a building’s energy efficiency and reducing its embodied carbon. The BamCore Prime Wall™ is a scalable, beyond-zero-carbon framing system that is custom prefabricated to millimeter accuracy and code-compliant up to five stories. It is faster and easier to install, stronger, and has better thermal and acoustic performance than traditional wood framing. It also reduces operating costs and construction waste while sequestering more carbon.
To drive these innovations, BamCore built the first sustainably sourced Timber Bamboo Global Supply Chain, supporting rural infrastructure in the global south. Developing this supply chain creates opportunities beyond BamCore as the demand for this fast-growing, strong regenerative carbon-capturing fiber increases. With the help of its globally responsible supply chain, BamCore is creating a future where timber bamboo becomes synonymous with sustainable construction and all its associated benefits
“By encouraging the planting of new timber bamboo in deforested areas of the tropics and subtropics, we aid in recovering lands and clean water while providing an avenue for a strong economy in remote villages,” shared Kate Chilton, Chief Sustainability Officer at BamCore.
Further validation of BamCore’s decarbonization commitment arrived on January 9th. The US Department of Energy’s ARPA-Energy HESTIA program awarded BamCore $2.2 million to pursue innovations in their Prime Wall™ product. This program is the US Government’s first major program to fund building decarbonization.
Fast Company’s editors and writers sought out the companies making the biggest strides around the globe. They also judged nominations received through their application process. The World’s Most Innovative Companies is Fast Company’s signature franchise and one of its most highly anticipated editorial efforts of the year. It provides a firsthand look at the inspiring and innovative efforts of companies across all sectors of the economy.
“What a strange and thrilling year it has been to honor this year’s Most Innovative Companies. This year’s list compiles some of the most cutting-edge groundbreakers who are changing our world every single day, from legacy organizations like McDonald’s to upstarts like MrBeast and institutions such as NASA. Everyone on this list does something completely, uniquely different, yet, they all have one thing in common: innovation,” said Fast Company editor-in-chief Brendan Vaughan.
Fast Company will host its third annual Most Innovative Companies Summit on April 19 and 20. The virtual summit celebrates the Most Innovative Companies in business, and provides an inside look at cutting-edge business trends and what it takes to innovate in 2023. Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies issue (March/April 2023) is available online here, as well as in-app form via iTunes, and on newsstands beginning March 14. The hashtag is #FCMostInnovative.
BamCore’s mission is to decarbonize the built environment by harnessing the best of nature and technology. The BamCore Prime Wall™ is the first beyond zero carbon footprint structural framing system for commercial and residential low-rise construction. In addition to being embodied carbon negative, the intelligent engineered bamboo design removes the studs and posts that cause thermal bridging, drastically improving the building’s energy efficiency and reducing operating emissions year after year. Also, the fully customizable, code-compliant, prefabricated framing system easily integrates into all architectural styles and significantly reduces construction time, job site waste, and the need for specialized or skilled labor. www.bamcore.com
