BamCore sponsors first presentation of the US Federal Sustainability Plan

Sustainable Development

BamCore is proud to sponsor
United States CSO, Andrew Mayock’s presentation on
The Federal Sustainability Plan

On January 27th, 3:00 pm EST, Andrew Mayock, the Federal Chief Sustainability Officer will discuss the new Federal Sustainability Plan to achieve a net-zero emissions buildings goal by 2045.

BamCore is honored to sponsor this inaugural presentation by Federal Chief Sustainability Officer Andrew Mayock, in conjunction with Greenbuild Webinars. This marks a new era for the building industry. The federal government intends to lead by example, spearheading change through legislation, regulation, and its substantial purchasing power.

“There is little time left to avoid setting the world on a dangerous, potentially catastrophic, climate trajectory. Responding to the climate crisis will require both significant short-term global reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and net-zero global emissions by mid-century or before.” – The White House.

Andrew Mayock heads the development of policies, programs, and partnerships to advance sustainability and climate-resilient Federal operations. On January 27th, he presents the federal government’s plan to bring all federal buildings to net-zero emissions by 2045. In addition, Executive Order 14008 aligns the federal government’s property management and procurement processes to support robust climate action while creating new jobs and catalyzing the country’s clean energy industries.

Jan 27th, 2022, The New Federal Executive Sustainability Order

As the source of nearly 40% of all Greenhouse Gases, the built environment is finally becoming the focus of coordinated climate change mitigation. But overlapping codes, regulations, and localized practices prevent speedy adoption of needed updates to code and procedure. With the current administration boldly taking a strong, no-nonsense approach, we are hopeful that needed change can be pushed all the way through the industry.

“– opportunities to create well-paying union jobs to build a modern and sustainable infrastructure, deliver an equitable, clean energy future, and put the United States on a path to achieve net-zero emissions, economy-wide, by no later than 2050.” -The White House.

BamCore is doing its part by introducing Andrew Mayock’s vision for quick action. Join us on January 27th, at 3:00 pm EST, for a one-hour webinar to discover how the new legislation will support the building industry and strengthen community resilience.
